Gallatin Gateway is closest to Four Corners and about 10 miles SW from Bozeman’s city center. This area is on highway 191 (the scenic and only way to get to Big Sky).  In the late 1800s, Gallatin Gateway was founded by a logging family who originally named the town Salesville after the Sales family. As tourism to Yellowstone become more popular this small town renamed itself to Gallatin Gateway to reflect as an entrance to the park. The lumber production and distribution from this area remains a strong industry today and the growth in infrastructure and community is livelier than ever.
